The Miller Insurance Agency Gives Back

The Miller Insurance Agency believes in giving back to the community through volunteer work and charitable contributions. In 2011, Ben Miller generously adopted a client referral program that donates $10 to a local charity/fundraiser each time a referral was sent to the agency. Over the years, this program has benefitted charities such as MS Lock Up for a Cure, NOAH, Behind the Badge Foundation, Run of Hope Seattle, Walk to Defeat ALS, The Burned Children Recovery Foundation, Boys and Girls Club, Mainstreet Mutt Rescue, Enduring Waves Foundation, Project Healing Waters,  as well as funded donations to many fundraisers/auctions on behalf of the company.

The Miller Insurance Agency and PEMCO donated just over $2,000.00 to Washington State University's Risk Management and Insurance department.  These funds were designated to helping future graduates pay for their pre-licensing and insurance license testing. More recently, in 2015, the agency partnered with the Insurance Department at Washington State University to provide scholarships that paid for the insurance licensing classes and testing of insurance graduates.

In addition to assisting local charities and donating to Washington State graduates’ futures, the agency also benefits local youth sports. In 2016, the referral program donated its quarter’s funds to the Stilly Venom Baseball team to purchase gear.

Since this referral program has been in place, The Miller Insurance Agency has donated and fundraised $7,500+ and 100+ hours to charities and local causes. This program is made possible by the continued support and thoughtfulness of the agency’s clients, friends, family, and business partners.

Additionally Ben takes special interest in Washington State University College of Business and served on the NBoA (National Board of Advisors) as Vice President and President for the Risk Management and Insurance department. The Board helps shape the vision of the department by providing guidance that the members of the Board are best qualified to provide. Ben donates his time to this Board by sharing advice to the Dean of the College of Business about business trends and operational tactics, fostering learning opportunities for students by facilitating the development of internships, as well as assisting with fundraising efforts to support the college’s initiatives.

The Miller Insurance Agency has also generously donated their time to local causes such as Everett Aquasox’s annual “Bark in the Park” event by handing out hundreds of dog treats. In 2014, they volunteered their time at iCan Shine bike camp where they assisted in teaching disabled children how to ride a conventional two-wheel bicycle. In addition, annually they gather coats and warm clothing for DCYF to donate to foster children in need for the cold winter months.
